Dunrobin

Dunrobin is located just outside Ottawa next to the Ottawa River. It's an amazing area - still only sparsely developed - there is wildlife all around. Driving to/from Kanata at dusk it's usual to see deer grazing. The backyard of the house was well visited by Blue Jays, Hummingbirds, Cardinals and Finches as well as squirrels and raccoons attempting to empty out the bird feeders. The Blue Jays are quite bold and love peanuts in the shell which they either whisk off for storage over winter, or grip with their feet and hammer their way through the shell. If you place several peanuts on the deck, they will carefully lift and weigh each shell until they find the heaviest.
