| A quieter alternative to Banff - it also felt more wild. There is a good buffalo-berry crop in 2006 so the bears were very active around the Kananaskis upper/lower lakes. I didn't see any although there was plenty of evidence they were around. | |||

Mt. IndefatigableThe route around the upper lake was closed due to a collapsed bridge and bear activity so I hiked up Mt. Indefatigable. It's a strenuous climb - the summit approach consists of loose rock and good footwear is needed - with great views over the Kananaskis lakes from the top. |

Lillian Lake hike up Galatea CreekI hiked up to Lillian Lake and stayed overnight. It's a steady walk up the valley. The campsite is at Lillian lake - site 12 is the pick of the bunch with views onto the lake. It's worthwhile making the 1 hour hike further up the valley to the Galatea Lakes. |
