| The scenery around Skaftafell was one of the highlights of Iceland for me. It's possible to make short easy hikes from the camping ground. However you might want to stay longer and make the most of the stillness and nature. |
Travel suggestions for SkaftafellHow long? - you could stop an hour and walk up to the glacier face in an hour, however, you will probably want to stay at least a full day or longer. Accommodation - The camping ground is the main place to stay. The ground is full of stones so you need good tent pegs. There is a B&B in the area which I can't comment on. Food - the visitor's center sells supplies. Most visitors cook up their own meals in the camping ground. Transport - bus or car. Once there you get around by foot. Things to do
