1. Install BladeRunner Pro v3.5

Download the BladeRunner Pro v3.5 kit from the Australian Media center Community site

Do not use the older BladeRunner Pro V3 or BladeRunner Pro products. If you have any difficulty downloading, then it's hosted locally here.

Uninstall BladeRunner if you have a previous version of BladeRunner installed (use the Control Panel)

Install BladeRunner Pro v3.5 by unpacking the BladeRunnerPro35 zip-set and double-clicking the installation .exe. Then follow the following instructions.

2. Configure BladeRunner

Run the BRP Configurator, either from the Start menu or under All programs.

It will open with the "Grabbers" tasks selected in the top left pane.

Specify the location of the TVxb.exe executable file and specify an Argument of –NoConsole (case is important) as shown below. Then click the “Add” button.

Click “PreProcesses" in the top left pane.

Remove the “MakeChannelInfo” task in the bottom left pane as TVxb will generate a ChannelInfo file for you. i.e. Click MakeChannelInfo and click the Delete button.

Remove the HDiT task if you live outside Australia. The HDiT option is specific to the channel/listing setup in Australia. i.e. Click HDiT and click the Delete button.

Save the BRP settings by clicking menu option File, Save.

3. Schedule BladeRunner

The BladeRunner configurator  will have automatically created a BRP schedule job entry.

Customize the BRP task settings.

Go to Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, Scheduled Tasks and double-click the BRP task to open up the Properties.

In the “Run as:” field enter the computer name and username, click the Set Password button, and type in the password

On the “Schedule” tab you can change the run time and frequency. This task is set to run every two days at 5:25am.

On the “Settings” tab you will probably want to check the item “Wake the computer to run this task” if you want unattended guide downloads.

You can change the “Stop task if it runs for” item to something like 2 or 3 hours. It should never take this long to download the guide.

Click OK to save these task settings.
